3rd Line IT Support Technician

Location: Stourbridge, DY8
Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £26,000 to £32,000 per annum

Techys2u has turned 15 years old, and to support and continue the growth of our company we are looking for a 3rd Line IT Support Technician to help with our vision for the future.

This role is ideal for somebody with a broad knowledge of IT concepts who likes the social aspect of working as a team in an office environment.

You will help us with the following challenges:

  • Providing the type of personalised customer service you’d expect from a small firm handling 2nd and 3rd line support via telephone, e-mail and remote support tools
  • Diagnosing and resolving complex issues in a Microsoft environment
  • Providing technical expertise to manage and lead the design, configuration and deployment of computer systems, networks and, IT & Communication projects

You must bring the following skills and knowledge with you:

  • A proven understanding of using Microsoft 365: Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Intune/Endpoint Enrolment, Power Automate and PowerShell scripting
  • Windows Server technologies including AD, DHCP, DNS, WDS, WSUS, Terminal Services, IIS and Hyper-V
  • Bare metal recovery and backup procedures for servers, workstations and hypervisors
  • E-mail and server migrations including knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and Exchange Online
  • Working with Microsoft Windows 10 as well as a knowledge and understanding of earlier versions
  • Anti-virus concepts and remote management tools
  • Networking knowledge including: wireless, VoIP, managed networks (in particular VLANs, QoS, 802.1X, STP), structured cabling, routing and VPN
  • Knowledge of routers running pfSense/OPNSense or similar router operating systems (eg. Untangle)

  • You need a UK drivers licence to visit our lovely customers all around the country
  • As with the nature of the business, there will be times you will be required to work out of hours according to our customers’ needs. This will include occasional weekends.
