Salary: £22,000 to £26,000 per annum

Are you a nerd with humour who isn’t afraid to communicate?

We are looking for a knowledgeable and friendly 2nd Line IT Support Technician to join our team and support our growing business. We are a small team and this role is ideal for somebody looking to be part of a friendly group of like-minded boffins.

You will help us with the following challenges:

  • Providing the type of personalised customer service you’d expect from a small firm. With 1st line (“have you tried turning it off and on again”) and 2nd line (“your system is misconfigured, let me walk you through that”) support via telephone, e-mail and remote support
  • Working closely with the rest of the internal support team to resolve problems and queries
  • Working with a ticket system, ensuring that the detail for requests or issues are logged correctly and accurately
  • Communicating directly with 3rd-party vendors and channel partners as required, to resolve problems and queries
  • Designing, configuring, installing, monitoring, maintenance and testing of computer systems and networks, from the ground up to completion
  • Helping our customers develop their own business including tendering, procuring consumables, and development of hardware and software and projects
  • Visiting customer sites to provide support and install new systems
  • Creating, maintaining and publishing support documentation

You must bring the following skills and knowledge with you:

  • A proven understanding of using Microsoft 365: Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Intune/Endpoint Enrolment, Power Automate, and PowerShell scripting
  • 1st and 2nd Line IT support roles (minimum of 3 years’ experience)
  • Windows Server technologies such as AD, DHCP, DNS, WDS, as well as bare metal recovery and backup procedures
  • E-mail and server migrations including knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and Exchange Online
  • Working with Microsoft Windows 10 as well as a knowledge and understanding of earlier versions
  • Antivirus concepts and remote management tools
  • Networking knowledge including: wireless, VoIP, managed networks, structured cabling, routing and VPN

Small print:

  • You need a UK drivers license to visit our lovely customers all around the country
  • As with the nature of the business, there will be times you will be required to work out of hours according to our customers’ needs. This will include occasional weekends.
