More info to come
When recently setting up a clients server with a RD1000 drive I came to use the built-in NT Backup wizard with Small Business Server to perform nightly backups, unfortunately due to the way in which the RD1000 drive is detected as a “removable drive”, it wouldn’t allow me to select this device.
A registry change allows this to be done, visit:
HKLM\software\microsoft\smallbusinessserver\backup and set the key “Backup Location Path” to the RD1000 drives drive letter.
Note: in order to set this value you have to have run the backup wizard and told it to backup to the hard disc to populate the appropriate registry keys.
