Exchange 2003 System Manager crashes when accessing Help

I tried updating the OS and Exchange, no joy, so then I gave up for a while and instead of trying to use the Help I just search for the information on the internet.  Eventually I gave in and after a bit of searching I found the answer.

The crashing is caused by the installation of IE7 on Server 2003 running Exchange 2003.  To solve the problem is easy, just delete a 1 file.

  1. Stop the Exchange System Attendant Service

  2. Stop the IIS Admin Service

  3. Open a Command Prompt rename the PSAPI.DLL in the exchsrvr\bin directory. to PSAPI.DLL.OLD

  4. Restart the Exchange and IIS services

Problem sovled!
