Free AVG is great (if you’re not a business) but sometimes anti-virus alone may not be enough protection, or if you’re installing it to clean and infected PC, just isn’t enough to get the job done.
Kaspersky’s free 14 day trial was fantastic, but when installing after AVG has been on the system you may have Kaspersky complain AVG is still installed!
Here’s a work around:
- Start > Run, type ‘regedit’ and hit enter.
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE
- Right click the key called ‘AVG’ and delete
Now click ‘Back’ during the Kaspersky installation and then ‘Next’ to get past where you got stuck!
